Tracking of Usage Data:

For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes only the consumer’s domain name, but not the e-mail address (where possible).

We collect only the domain name, but not the e-mail address of visitors to our Web page, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

The information we collect is used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for each individual visitor, used to notify consumers about updates to our Web site, not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.

With respect to cookies: We use cookies to store visitors’ preferences and record session information, specifically for membership-based services to verify that the user has recently logged in (for security reasons).

E-mail Opt-Out Procedure:

If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by visiting the member help link above.

If you are a member of a footbag.org discussion list, going to http://www.footbag.org/members/optout to be removed from our “bulletins” list (which we never use anyway). If you wish to be removed from the announcements list, simply edit your member profile and remove yourself.

Postal Address Information:

If you supply us with your postal address on-line, you will only receive the information for which you provided us your address. As we do not sell or market products, we will not send you unsolicited mail advertisements. We may however send you, or cause to be sent to you, notices for informational purposes related to IFPA-sanctioned footbag events in your area.

Telephone Information:

Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers on-line may receive telephone contact from us with information regarding their use of our services, or regarding upcoming events in their area, though we do not contact our members via telephone as a matter of course. However, if you do not wish to receive such telephone calls, simply remove your phone number from the optional contact details in your member profile.

Sharing and Publishing of Member Contact Information:

Persons who register as members of our site, and who supply their telephone numbers, e-mail address, and other contact information within their member profile on the member-only portion of our website, who do not have club listings or event listings published, and who do not mark such information as “private” in their profile, may be contacted by other registered members who have searched for their information in our member directory, but not by general (non-member) users of our service. Non-members may not see this information for members unless members choose to publish them by creating public club or event listings. Persons who do not wish to have their personal information published may request their member profile and account to be deleted by e-mailing the above address, or by specifically removing or marking as “private” any information they do not wish to share. Anything marked as “private” is treated according to the rest of this policy statement.

Persons who supply their telephone numbers on our club list or on our event list are doing so at their own discretion, as this information is published to a larger group of people, not necessarily other registered users.

Despite our best efforts, any personally identifiable information you give on your member profile or any member-contributed section of footbag.org, including the member forum, may be accessible to individuals or organizations you did not explicitly choose to share this information with. As such, we advise against registering a member account with us if you are not willing to share any of this information, most notably including your first and last name.

If you register as a member, you are expressly granting IFPA and footbag.org the right to show your name (first name, middle name, and last/family name) to members and non-members. Moreover, any and all content you contribute to footbag.org becomes owned by footbag.org and IFPA indefinitely. For example, the instant you post a message on the forum, create a club listing, create an event listing, contribute to the reference section, or otherwise contribute any content to any part of footbag.org’s website (whether private or public), all information you have contributed (e.g., a forum posting) as well as your full name, city, state, and country, are henceforth publicly visible and you grant footbag.org and IFPA the right to display these data indefinitely, as IFPA and footbag.org deem appropriate.

Therefore, you should not register if you do not wish to have your name searchable or knowable via footbag.org. If you create an account and create any content as described above (such as posting at least one message to the footbag.org forum), neither footbag.org nor IFPA are liable for this information being public. Such information (e.g., your full name, city, state, and country) will be available in perpetuity because third parties such as search engines and web archive services may cache or otherwise save this information indefinitely. Members are certainly allowed to request their accounts to be closed/deleted, but any information they may have contributed to footbag.org remains the sole property of IFPA and footbag.org from that point forward, and may be retained indefinitely. For example, any post you make to the forum is part of the permanent record of communication among the membership, even if you delete your membership at some point in the future.
