Event Details:
LOCATION (**UPDATED**):
We have moved out of Brooklyn this year and will be at VAN CORTLANDT PARK
(**INDIAN FIELD**) in the northern Bronx, near Yonkers. This large NYC park
is across the street from Manhattan College. The New York Botanical Garden
and the Bronx Zoo are also only a few minutes drive away.
**INDIAN FIELD is located at the corner of Van Cortlandt Park East and East
233rd St. There is a BP gas station & Dunkin Donuts on the other side of Van
Cortlandt Park East from the park.
The park is easily accessible from I-95 (the George Washington Bridge), I-87,
and Route 9A. **The cloeset NY subway station to Indian Field is the 4 line,
at the last stop (Woodlawn), which is about 3/4 mile south of the park.
**Street parking is available along Van Cortlandt Park East and nearby side
streets, though get there early to find the best parking. There will also be
a road race going through Indian Field on Saturday morning, so you may have
to try the side streets.
LODGING:
Unlike the past few years, there will not be a group rental house this year.
There are a few hotel options available within a 15 minute drive from the
park. Name brand hotels (not the cheapest but likely the safest bets)
include Rodeway Inn-Bronx Zoo and Ramada Inn-Yonkers (the closest hotel, the
Van Cortlandt Hotel, had the worst reviews, so we advise against reserving
there). It's better to reserve something sooner than later. Bruce Dole may
also have some crash space remaining. For other lodging options, contact Ted
Fritsch.
REGISTRATION & FEES:
Registration will take place on Saturday morning at the event site.
Open Competitors- $45
Intermediate Competitors- $25
All competitors will receive a player’s pack with a t-shirt. Non-competitors
can receive a player’s
pack for $15.
