New York, New York, USA
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group...
The NYFA gathers in New York City to freestyle and promote on
the nicer days of the year. We supposedly hold a tournament, the
Explosion, in Central Park. Well, we held one in 1997, anyway.
If you're thinking of adding yourself to our contact list, you must be
able to answer "yes" to either of the two following questions: Do I live
within 50 miles of New York City? Will I be able to go to New York City to
play footbag at least twice this year?
We do not set up any nets currently, because it's so hard to get little
stakes into concrete with them tiny hammers.
Our real website is under permanent construction. If someone
wants to
build it for us, be our guest. We're too busy playin'.
But check out http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/nyfootbag/
to stay up to
date on
our shred times and locations.

Kicking Times and Locations

Summer Schedule (subject to cancellation/change):
We play on the south side of Union Square, on the steps. There are
good crowds, lights, and so far, only occasional complaints about a radio.
There's even a spot for four to play when it rains.
Regular sessions on Wednesday evenings are from 6pm till
whenever. Saturday afternoons we've been playing at 1pm in Central Park.
Any outdoor session is canceled if the predicted daytime high
temperature is below 55 degrees.
Directions to Union Square: Take the 4,5,6,N or R
trains to (gasp!) Union Square. The F stops about two blocks
away, on 6th avenue and 14th street.
In Central Park, we play opposite the Naumberg Bandshell, across the street
from the Bethesda Fountain,
down the hill from Summerstage. Check out this map of central park:
http://www.centralpark2000.com/products/map/map_67.html
We'll be right where the map says "The Mall".
