Riverrock wants footbag to be part of the festival once again! I want to say that last year was really fun..and sunny!... and slobbery... Bring your suntan lotion... For me I feel most engaged when I'm a part of something. Not just by being somewhere , but by actively doing. I think this is why I love footbag, you set up in the middle of an island with a buzzing crowd around, and you CREATE! Last year the crowd really dug the first circle we had. We set out some cones right in the middle of everyone! We were surrounded by supportive people the whole time. There isn't much shade to find so be prepared. After WE KICK, we head to the hotel and then either go to a local bar or back to the island for some food trucks and live music. This kicked some ass last year not going to lie I Love this event! Free music! If you are adventurous you can head to a local park called Carillon where real live NET PLAYERS will be kicking...a rare breed. Lots to do and see in Richmond - come check this festival out!!! Footbag or hacky sack hasn't even made it on Riverrocks wesbite or map , but the people in charge think its some of the coolest stuff they've seen...just not quite sure how to handle it! The event was designed to promote Richmond’s unique riverfront, downtown trails and whitewater rapids to outdoor enthusiasts. VIEW, walking distance to the island, bar, TOILETS!.. . NO PETS at Crowne. And
its a longish uphill walk back from the island so don't forget to bring your
days stuff. Unless you like longish uphill walks.

Dear friends of footbag sports, we are sorry but we need to cancel the "singles". To sad, but as the weather is not that good right now, and we do not have the hall on Monday, it may be not possible. This year's Helsinki Open will be an indoor tournament and more international than ever: we are already expecting players from Germany, France, and Venezuela (!) to attend. A week after Bembel Cup, this is probably your best chance before Montréal to challenge three of the world's top four singles players ;) If you need help with finding accommodation, traveling from the airport, etc., do not hesitate to contact me or anyone of the Finnish crew directly. This year the Pa Net Championships will be held in connection with a Benefit Joe is holding for children with cancer. Beside the footbag events there will be disc golf, poker, chess and ping-pong. New this year will be a pig roast and possibly live music. Also new this year will be a nominal $10 entry fee that will be donated to the charity. With the early summer tournament date expect warmer temps and longer daylight hours. As in the past we invite people to bring food to share. Also we expect more people this year so we're encouraging camping. So footbaggers, let's give back a little to Joe and Brenda for all the've done for footbag and have some fun while we're at it.
