Sebastien definitely made the switch to playing Takraw because (a) the competition was better, and (b) there was actually a chance for real money. But, I think of him more as a complete traitor.
Yves will know where he is. Maybe someone can invite him to join this forum and answer. Anyway, I think he's still around but he does go to Asia often according to my sources.
I remember a few years ago -- it was hilarious. The guy (Verdy that is) got stuck in Thailand (at least, I think it was Thailand) because he overstayed his visa, and if he left they'd have fined him a whopping amount (some number of US$ per day he was over his limit). But at a certain point he had to get home, so his parents (or someone) ponied up the cash. I think it was at least a few months that he was "stuck".
So I don't figure he is living in Asia per se (but I may be wrong). I think he just goes there a lot with the Canadian team. But what do I know..

Seb is probably still in Asia. He is playing takraw recreationally. He as other interests in life. Footbag did not make more money than his current job so he has trouble coming to tournaments when there is no profit.
That is the reason he is gone. He doesn't play takraw professionally just for fun. As far as I know.

| Look for Sebastian to play net at 2004 Worlds in Montreal - if he is in the country. He still loves to play in front of a good crowd, and Montreal will not disappoint. It will be the deepest and most competitive net tournament in several years. Net players prepare to play the best! |

Since I've known Sebastien he loved going to Asia, first it was India and now it is Thailand. It is a myth to think that any white face can make any money playing Takraw. Seba still likes to play footbag net and he's still a dominant doubles player, when he's around |

Well, if Sebastian shows up for 2004 Worlds in Montreal, please tell him to give me a call. Maybe we can make a surprise for Mixed!
