Yes it is kinda easy at first. But as you progress to the harder tricks it gets a lot harder.

It's basically a lame version of contact juggling as far as I can tell.

While I agree myachi itself is somewhat lame, doing the motions with a footbag is awesome, and it's a great way to kill time when you can't shred. It's great because you can do moves you'd never be able to do with your feet like Triple Switch>Atomic Double Switch. That's like not that hard to do myachi style. If you get fluid with it, it can be a fun little diversion. I use a sort of a downward cupping motion for the clippers.

so that website froze my browser for some reason... but heres the thing with myachi... this originated as "the lighter game" for me, which I was playing for YEARS before myachi ever hit the scene. Essentially, take a Bic lighter (notice its the same shape?) and toss it across the room and try to catch on the back of your hand... right. Then 8 years later I'm in college and see these little sack versions of it, which is waaaaay easier. If your a smoker, its a nice little game for when your bored, cause you generally always have a light, but I see no reason to go buy a sack version of it. What really surprised me is that I work in a children's hospital and found a bunch of these in the gift shop... I'm not even sure little kids would know what they're for!

Myahchi is great. A lot of you are saying that it's really easy, but the game is more than catching it on your hand. It would be like if I said footbag was easy after doing a toe stall. There are tons of hard tricks.

Well said, Izzy. I've never understood why a skill toy enthusiast would look down on another skill toy. While it is certainly easier to learn the basic tricks of Myachi than it is to learn the basics of footbag, that should hardly be seen as a fault with MYACHI, but rather as a fault with FOOTBAG that Myachi seeks to help with. Footbag is too hard for most people to learn, so Myachi provides a stepping stone for the younger and/or less coordinated.
It should also be noted that the hardest move in Myachi is precisely as hard as the toughest move with footbag (not sure what move that would be, but I assume it would be the same move for both disciplines).[/i] |
