This is purely out of interest, I don't believe that I will become famous off of it or something, but me and my friends were talking today and were curious how much they make (or if they make money), I tried googleing it but nothing came up so if anybody has an idea please let me know

There is no such thing as a professional footbag player Smile

Mostly, (as with most fringe-sports) being "professional" doesn't result in direct payment, but instead translates into all-expenses-paid trips to various places and free stuff from sponsors. There are a small few who actually get paid for commercial appearances, but these are few and far between, and--depending on your definition of "professional--" don't even really count.

In my book, the basic definition of professional as "getting paid to do something" doesn't quite cut it; not only do you need to be paid to do it, but it needs to be your primary source of income.

By that standard, I'm not sure that anyone in the community really qualifies. I guess Jorden Moir is probably the closest to this (though it's not as if I know how much money he makes), and his thing is a stage show that incorporates juggling and tight choreography that moves him out of the "footbag player" range and into the "juggler" area.

Other guys like Peter Irish & Alex Zerbe also incorporate some freestyle tricks into their shows/routines, but I wouldn't say they were making their money from footbag itself.

Vasek & Honza et al. have apparently been making some money in recent years combining freestyle football & freestyle footbag and doing demonstrations of that, but again, it's not usually pure "freestyle footbag." Apparently if you can shred a cell phone, you can bank that skill Wink

There might be others whom I've missed. But they'll be rare exceptions.

There are quite a few players who've made some money from playing footbag. I've been professional (even by my standard) for short periods of time, but nobody pays their mortgage & bills doing it for any length of time.
