Hey everyone,
Another thread from the conference is the idea of improving FW. We need a key person to do this. Steve will advise only at this point. Who wants to take on this one. I am getting my masters this year and can't do more then contribute. But I don't think anyone is going to argue(Except Steve D ) that we need to improve the FW site for net.
Lets start by listing by what is has currently and what it needs.
Ready GO!
1. Beginner Info-All the info for beginners there.
2. Current Net set info
3. New vids with men and WOMEN(especially US women )
4. Current Shoe information
5. Links to Current IFPA standards
6. Flyer for club practices
7. Maybe a Promo Video for Net, showing everything a tutorial stuff.
8. Good Photo gallery
Who wants to be the main go between with Steve or who is ready to take on a big challenge here?

Whatever we do, lets make sure it doesn't cost $1 to talk.
I am hoping, next season, to shoot a short film about Net and the people who play it. Depending on time and $$$ constraints it may be about the ups and downs of an entire season of footbag or it may just be about one tournament (probably the US Open).
I would be willing to shoot the tutorial footage for the site. I am hoping to get a wider range of players than just my hometown folks. If it can wait until next year around this time I think we could make a damn good quality vid that includes a wide range of input.
I suppose someone might be able to get something up and running long before that though.
I will ask around among the web folks I know for volunteers but I think (and I definitely could be wrong here) that Mr. Ken "the Hammer" Hamric *IS* a web guy so.................maybe..............................

.
This sounds like a new thread, net doucumentary or something.
I am simply talking about getting FW updated.
I vote Jeremy for managing the project. Wulff is too busy, he could help I am sure but he works too hard right now especially in the fall.
We don't need any help hosting what i am talking about. But if we do we can call DA HAMMER, I am sure. If he hasn't had too many Martinis. Shaken not stirred, Mr. Hammer.
Ok.
What else do we need in the template for this page. Here is the current page.

After my coffee this morning I decided, first we need a good photo or two at most. So lets have people contribute their best tournament photos(keep unis in mind) please embed them right into this thread.
This photo could be the first thing you see when you click the NETGAME tab on the main FW page.
Ok, who has the best photos out there. Manu? Anyone we will give photo credit.
I personally like the emotion and the skill level shown here. I really feel it embodies the the spirit of footbag net to the highest level attainable. I am sure Eric loves it too!

Ok, after looking at the current net page, I am reluctantly forced to agree with Mr. Lovern that a photo or two of actual net play would be appropriate on the net page, even if we have to resort to mocked up photos showing PT getting air and actually getting a kill against Eric - as though that ever happened (PT - tonight it was wine, not martini's).
Some ideas (obvious, but I did have that wine, so cut me some slack):
Have a category for the types of spikes, with a video of each. I thought I had seen this before (on a Canadian site??), but cannot find it now.
Have a category for the types of serves, with videos of each (sweep, toe, inside, outside, ?)
Have a category for drills, utilizing Steve's drills as a basis for it, with videos of each.
Have some footage of great plays.
Section on singles, section on doubles.
I would be glad to provide any assistance possible to Jeremy, who is the obvious choice, in this task.

i must disagree there. I am anything but the obvious choice because I have NO computer abilities. I am an idea man. I will produce great ideas, but I am unable to implement them at this time.
some ideas:
-link to listing of all net clubs
-history of past champions (incl. footage/pics of players)
-world rankings (continually updated semi-annually)
-links to net websites (prokicker, footbagnet.com for example)
-drill tutorial videos (PT made one at worlds)
-spike tutorial videos
-video tutorial: the basics of returning serves
-video tutorial: the basics kicks of footbag net
-link to IFPA net rulebook
-info about equipment currently used by net players, where to buy it
-listing of annual and/or upcoming tournaments

I can help produce the html and work on the implementation if others can provide the content and the wording. I will need to talk to Steve to see how he wants the updating to work.
Thanks,
Ken

Ok,
This is good! We got our tech guy. Now we can start a easy layout.
Anyone else have a good pic to submit? Waiting.........
I think all the information above should be on it.
I think a quit intro video would be nice too. Where is Manu? Make us a good Highlight tape, with plenty of cool kills on it. Something to get us pumped up. In return we will list your site footbagnet.com for a place to buy equipment. DEAL?
Fired up. Should be dealing with my masters now, but can't stop with the footbag fever.
i dont think its helpful to throw pix at each other whilst there is not a single line written and the sctructure is ... questionable and uncomplete to be polite.
i did step back (again) because i feel that my input is overseen in general. but the way this seems to go down just makes me shake my head.
you're (again) distracting each others from the task.
there has been some useful input and also some good ideas on how to work the net-section out. the next useful and logic step would be to
-work on the structure -> make it complete and useful.
-make the "i got some ideas" a "this is the structure we want" and a "we got all thats necessary and not too much to not overload a noob".
-ask steveG how to do it. simple technical stuff.
-write some good texts.
anyways: to get started the most helpful thing would be to sum up what we got and what we need. it seems to me that nobody has realized, that the link that G* finally posted leads to a WIKI. if you dont know what that means you might want to look that up (in WIKIpedia for example).
once it is understood almost anybody could start by giving it a structure, adding paragraphs or whatever.
pictures are by far the smallest problem.
if this is continuing this way there will never be a result.
