haven't played a whole lot recently. Had a quick solo session yesterday, came close to toe spinning illusion, I've never hit that before.

Will be heading overseas at the end of the week, going to have sessions with Matt Bailey in London and Alex Trenner and the rest of the Austrian crew in Vienna.

My ankle is starting to improve, I'm still at least a week away from training/shredding but will have a light kick tomorrow to test it out a bit and start getting the strength and flexibility back in it.

Video of Ryan and I playing from our session the 20th of May. Both had a fairly good session, I was really focusing on getting some stuff bsos and also just generally using flipside a bit more.

Mitch and I had our weekly kick last night - Mitch continues to improve - he hit ripwalk and swirl - they're still a bit messy but its a start. His spinning clippers are improving and so is his ducking. He's also chasing the bag a bit less.

Its about 4 weeks since I fractured/sprained my ankle. It felt pretty good on Monday so I went for a bit of a run on Tue night. I wasn't game to kick a ball and I pulled up a bit sore.

Then last night it was feeling pretty good so I stepped up to some light guiltless runs - only 5-10 contacts at a time though. I'm also learning to shred in my new glasses/goggles. I was sick of seeing the soccer ball as a blurry blob and I hate wearning contacts, so I bought some sports glasses/goggles. It's pretty wierd playing in them and my timing is still off, but I'll get used to them.

I also hit Vortex for the first time. I can only attempt it on the one side because thats the side I can set and catch with my sore ankle. I hit it a couple of times but couldn't seal it. I just need to train myself to set the bag in the right place without having to think too much about it.

I would have played soccer in my brace this week but it'll be rained out - I think if I can avoid re-injuring it I should be able to start shredding properly again in 3 weeks or so.

Haven't posted in a while and quite a bit has happened since then. First, nice stuff Dyalan and Mitch. I would like to hit vortex someday, working on drifters though Very Happy

Today I hit pdx whirl on flipside for the first time, then hit pdx whirl < whirl bs for the first time. Really would like to string that together, but need to control my pdx whirls a little more. Been practicing drifters, with what I think is proper technique, and did a nice run today with a few in them. Hit gyro clipper bs, bsos, b2b for the first time ever today as well. I was practicing my weaker spinning and decided I should try some gyro clippers instead.
The other day I hit 4-5 ripwalks in a row and they felt really easy, I actually stopped because I was surprised. blur < double over down is really hard Confused You have to really control the DOD otherwise its a fail. Hit ripwalk<ripwalk<blur for the first time about 2 weeks ago. In general stepping is become really easy, can now hit ripwalk etc over 90% on the first attempt.

Just to notify everyone,
I will be going to Worlds this year as well as the Japanese Footbag Championships.
Bought my tickets and registered and now have to practice my but off so that I don't come last in the open divisions.

So since coming back from worlds, have been practising the crap out of osis. One side is now pretty much at 100 percent success rate, while the other depends on whether I remember correct body movement during the move. Still have to work on the muscle memory on that side. I hit 20 contacts of osis > clipper rpt last week.
Due to Uni work, haven't played in the last few days, however considering Dan and Phil will be in Melbourne next week, I need to start practising hard so that I can show that I have improved since worlds. Other than osis, been practising flip clipper as well as whirls on both sides. I catch my left clipper differently to my right so I am changing it so they are the same.

Hit:
-blurry whirl both sides at worlds.
-smoke( pixie drifter/open drifter) both sides
-fairy(shut) ducking butter(down)
and there were a few more I can't remember

From now on I will be writing tricks with the new naming system as I
have now started to memorise it.

So, quick write up today.
Just finished a session. I started off with 500 flip clippers in NUCLEUS SHOES!
It took a little bit of time, however I do have to say that for correcting your clipper technique they are the bomb. My flip now matches my strong so that is quite good.
Practised illusions which are still quite shitty for me. My technique is quite poor for them.
Then I went on to my main practice which was osis. I started with the osis > clipper rpt drill and got over 20 contacts for the first time. I was always hitting more than 10 contacts so there was a bit of improvement. I also decided at the end to just do some osis b2b. I broke my previous record first try. I got about 10 b2b, then went on to get 12 later on. I was so tired, so I couldn't really do much more than 12. Finished with a nice osis < down rpt bsos string that felt really cool.
Big sessions over the next few days as Dan Boyle and the Red Rocket will be in Melbourne next week. Phil will be staying at my place so hopefully I can bombard him with tips, and shred a lot of course.

I went to Melbourne over the weekend.

Kicked on Sunday with Ryan, not such a strong session, played at Fed square, a few good runs, but we were both pretty tired.

Played the next day at Melbourne uni, we ended up playing for 3 hours. Dan Ednie came by for a little while as well. Alex Urano said he might come by for a while, but that never eventuated.

I came very close to hitting matador>far reverse swirl. I actually had it on my foot on the second try, but that was the closest I came.

Dan invited me to do a demo the next day at Balwyn High School, so we went and did that. That happens every year, so the kids liked it and knew what it was all about.

Then we went in to Fed Square and met with Phil and Ryan. I couldn't stay long as I had a plane to catch. I challenged Phil to hit pdx whirling swirl>mobius. He didn't hit it while I was there, but he had it come off his foot and I'm sure he hit it soon enough.

Had the usual Thur night kick last night - no new moves or massive runs but:

Huge-props to Mitch for coming out and kicking just 18 days after surgury to pin his brocken collar bone back together!

Next time you're thinking of skipping a kick because your a bit tired or the conditions are quite ideal - Mitch-up, quit complaining, and go shred.

New moves for me:

swifter, witchdoctor, paradox barrage. Some others that I can't remember right now.

Had a good session at Bondi w/ Dyalan and Mitch on Sunday. Weather wasn't great but we had a post session swim anyway.
