I'm 41 and started in the early 1980s. I'm back into it lately because of my students. We kick it around at school regularly. We're all pretty serious about getting into freestyle. The kids help keep me young. I have my own youngsters at home and lately they are saying things like, "Daddy, are you going out to practice again?!?" Father's Day is coming up soon and daddy needs a new pair of Lavers.

OMG I can't believe I missed this thread. I'm laying claim to being the oldest regularly active freestyler...

47 years old, still going at it, will be celebrating my 30th anniversary of footbag next summer! Check out the latest article an MU Journalism student made about me: http://h4x354x0r.com/2010/05/29/average-man-with-an-average-life-gives-above-average-inspiration.aspx that includes a video from last week's footbag session.

I post videos of my sessions about once a week, you can catch them on my YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/h4x354x0r and there's a 10 minute documentary video about me done by another MU Journalism student last fall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QjAZCiQyLc

Hey Derrick, I've got you beat. I'll be 63 next month and have been doing freestyle for about 2 years now. I entered the US Open Freestyle (Intermediates) competition last year and did a lousy job of it, although I won a couple of the Consecutive events. I play 3 or 4 times a week and several times a month kick with my pro friend, Alex Zerbe, and, sometimes Aaron Shepard & Ben Carlson. Keep kicking -- keeps ya young!!

Dang, Ken, I yield my self-declared crown! That's rad; I hope I can still kick at 63. I've actually kinda got my eyeball on getting to 67 - that would be my 50th anniversary of being introduced to the sport.

Keep kicking - it does keep you young!

Hey, Derrick, just turned 64. Choked during my routine again this year at the Open, but am now working on coming in higher than last place next year, when I turn 65. Hope to meet you someday!!

Hey Derrick -- another year has passed, I'm 65 now and just competed in the Intermediate Freestyle event at the US Open in Portland. I came in 4th out of 4, but my routine was lots better than last year. Maybe next year I will move up a notch or two.

I'm 66 1/2 now and still freestyling. At the US Open last summer there weren't enough of us for the Intermediate Freestyle event, so I had to do an Exhibition. Dropped it lots, but also made quite a few of my moves. Hope to see some of you next year at the Open and compete with you.
