Hi,

Itīs been so quiet here so I decided to start with two interesting question.

We have been talking about big ball theory for a while but Iīm not sure if anything is really happening. I saw P.Tīs prototype last summer in Copenhagen but didnīt have time to play with it. If somebody, somewhere is having any kind of prototypes Iīd like to know and probably test īem.

Another big issue is that we donīt have too many "professional" Net Sets. Itīs cool that people are doing their own net sets but itīs not cool anymore when we are using those same homemade net sets in tournaments. Our credibility suffers in sponsors eyes and in audience eyes Shocked And almost always the size of the court is swerwing and same thing with the height of the net.

In my opinion in a few years those homemade net sets should be illegal in bigger tournaments. I donīt think that freestylers would like to play in garage in bigger tournaments Wink

Jimmy Cīs net sets are/were so great so itīs sad that those are not available anymore. I heard that Frankfurters are having their own "production line" for professional net sets. Is that true? If so, when itīs possible to order īem?

Keep kicking,

Jukka Peltola

The new nets are great!
Inspired by the jimmy c net, but, with many new improvements

i will have to look if i can ship them to europe ($$$)...

As for the bigger ball, i was told that the "new" nike mini skills ball was pretty good but i didnt have time to try it.

the size is about perfect: 3" diameter and pretty cheap, around 5-6 us$
you can see it on that link
http://www.ussoccerstore.com/us80205563.html

but im not sure it reacts well with the wind...

What about a smaller takraw ball? I find Takraw balls kick well enough (more pring than a net bag), but if you could find/make one the size of that nike ball manu posted about, it might not be bad.

Cheers

Ben

What i found to be the closest thing so far to a footbag is a street hockey ball. There's 2 version that i know of it, one for summer condition and one for winter. The winter one is the softer of the two or less bouncy, but it's still quite hard compare to a footbag. What i did to get it less bouncy, was to make holes in it.

I personnally really like it for power kick, it bounce more than a footbag so you can play from further distance and not have to use much energy. As for control, it rigidity make it a bit less controlable, less forgiving than a footbag, but the fact that it's an empty ball and it tends to slow down with distance, you can reach stuff you could probably not with a footbag.

The way to see if a ball would play similar to a footbag, you just need to drop it. If it bounce like a footbag, it will probably play like a footbag. Then you need to check for the right size and weight.
