Anyone ever played a singles net game with 3 players? Well that what happenned last sunday at our indoor practice. We were 7 people. So one full court and 3 on the second court. On that last court I tought we would play one on one but Gilles and Sebastien Duchesnes came up with the idea that we could all play a singles match. So the idea is that you play one on one and at every point the one who miss get replaced. So each one keep its score and the first to get to 15 or 21 wins (we play straight scoring)
It is surprisingly fun and kind of relate to the 4 square idea by getting on the bench everytime you miss. |

we do that sometimes, so do the finns...
counting scores too and the two better players challenge the doubles court. mostly with straight games to 15 on the doubles court. so their game-point ends the "tringels" as we call it.

Sure we've played, last time was on friday with Jyri and Janne. It is a great format, sometimes we've even ran into the situation where one player is out while two players can continue playing . E.g. scores 6-14-15 when played to 15 means that match between the first and third is over while second and third can continue.
The only drawback is that the word threesome said in English or in Finnish (kolmen kimppa) have almost always sexual meaning in Finland. And since we started to call it threesome from the beginning (few years ago) it is hard to say it in the other words so that it is not confused with two against one. I wonder what the badminton players on the next court are thinking about us . |

| If you can get yourself into a threeway with a couple of Finns, my advice is that you should make the most of that opportunity. |
