Hi all. I am new to freestyle, and also to stitching 32 panel bags.
Currently I am using soft microsuede because it was the best looking stuff available from spotlight...
My bags are about 50mm in diameter. The first and second ones were 80grams, and the next two 62 and 45 grams. I like the 80, but it drops too easy if I don't get it right in the middle of my foot.
I'm using a mix BB's and pellets from old crocheted bags.
I'm also just using dental floss as my thread, as I haven't found any upholstery thread yet.
The first 2 I made lasted fine for a week with just me practicing stalls, but after circle kicking, but tore along a seam. The first one I retired and took it's stuffing for the second. #2 is going ok after a quick patch up after a kick with mates.
#3 and 4 I have made with bigger seams (more material around the stitching) in the hope that they will resist pulling apart from hard hits. Time will tell.
So what do you stichers do to prevent your bags coming apart after hard use? I have also started pulling the thread much tighter, wrinkling the panels, which looks like the thing to do.
What thread do you use? And what fillers?
Where can I get a hold of some Ultrasuede light in Aus?
And where can I buy like 1000 bb's or stainless shot??
Here are my bags so far:
order of first till most recent: black and white, burg and white, claw, blue and white. (My white is 'stone' but looks nice still)
