Hey guys in the middle of making the plan for the days and when it is, just wanted to see what events we wanted to do this year.

Obviously routines, sick 3, circle and golf are in. Just wondering whether we should plan to do request/sick 1/shred battles etc as well. Let me know guys, thanks.

I'd reckon it really depends on who'll be in attandance ...

If Dan and Jeremy [and perhaps an international] are participating, sick 1 and request would be entertaining for the rest of us Shocked.

If Janis is going to be a part of it, I'm sure plenty of us would like to have a go at Net [I last played it in 1998, but loved it].

Shred Battles should be a mainstay I think ... also, it would be nice to have it without being hassled and pushed through like last years battles.

ps ... I can't recall what dates were floated, but I will be in Perth for my brother-in-laws wedding on the following dates ...

Sat 28th May - Fri 17th June

Flights booked and paid for, so I'm really hoping it's not then!?

Routines, Shred 30, Sick 3 I guess have been the mainstays of the competitions throughout the years. And more recently circle comp.

Shred Battles are good fun, that would be something good to do if we got a bit of a crowd.

Request is a bit boring I think, but I would be happy to compete in it and some people like it.

I am pretty free for any dates up til Mid July.

It would be fun to have a bit of a muck around tournament of net too.

I'm away in May. Back in June.

We should have battles - I'm not as attached to sick 1 - I prefer to make sick 1 an award that runs over the whole week.

I don't really mind if we skip request.

The sooner we have a date the better ... I know I've got a lot of stuff to fit in this year, as have others I'm sure.

How about ANZAC Day long weekend?

It's before May ... so Dyalan can make it.
It's well before late May ... so I can make it.
Well before Daniel's mid-July deadline.
Jeremy seemed to like the idea when I talked to him yesterday.

How about it?

I thought some people couldn't do Easter weekend, I would rather it a little later myself, but if the general consensus is to have it the same time then I am fine with that as well.

That may well have been me!
[Easter ... wife and young kids ... blah blah]

To be perfectly honest, I didn't even realise that ANZAC Day long weekend was Easter weekend this year [robbing people of extra holidays!] It is not a problem for me now ... I actually see my family quite a bit, and could do with a break Wink.

If anyone can't do that weekend [fri 22nd, sat 23rd, sun 24th, mon 25th April], then let us all know here asap. We should set it as soon as possible to help us all find decent flights, juggle our lives, etc. I don't want to seem like I'm pushing an agenda ... I just feel that it's time to decide a date and start preparations, before another couple of weeks go by and everything becomes rushed.

I wouldn't be able to make it if it was easter - I thought the general consensus was that we'd happily do it later than usual this year.

Late June/early July would suit me best at the moment.

OK. I'm not quite sure why later is better ... but sure!
[I thought earlier for better chance of good weather, and public holiday for players getting away from work]

I'll leave it alone now and just wait and see what you guys decide.

From memory there were a few reasons to brave the winter - player availability/possible uni commitments, time to organise, allowing the possibility of doing nats and the easter show. If these no longer apply - (sounds like most players will be available - doesn't look like we'll be doing anything at the show this year - and if Ryan's happy to do it sooner) there's no reason we can't have it earlier (except that I can't make it Wink).

Otherwise my suggestion is the Queens B'day weekend in June (I think it's the 15th everywhere except WA). Not sure how this sits with the students - just an idea.

that is in the middle of the exam period for me, if I don't have any exams after then it would definitely be ok, which is actually possible, however I would not know until the exam schedule is released, I was thinking maybe the week after that. Also I think Lotus is unavailable for that weekend as well.
