I've had a Sandmaster Footbag that has lasted me a really long time (a year and a half, still no holes) and is a great beginner footbag.
Don't get a fully metal filled footbag unless its a 32 made of Ultrasuede Light.. When I was starting out I had a few of those 14 panel metal filled bags from Flying Clipper and they got holes in like three weeks.
If you go to modified.in, find a stitcher with a good reputation, and he/she will make you a durable footbag that breaks in well. |

| Ya i guess the thing is we play burn and that involves alot of trying to kick the footbag off the ground and that abuses the hack alot. Idk between my friends weve had like 4 sandmasters that have at least leaked in like less than 4 months. I actually bought a stally hack and that broke in 6 days :S |

| If a Sandmaster is leaking, find the seam(s) where it is leaking from and put a drop of superglue in between. Leaking of a sandbag is almost inevitable. If the panels are getting holes, i'd say get a bag that has more than 14.. I know World Footbag sells bags that have up to 120 panels. Just try out different bags and see what works best. |

| If you're going to play games like "burn" and constantly scrape the bag off the ground with your feet, then your only real option is to get a crocheted bag (like a sipa sipa) or maybe a thick hemp bag. There is no such thing as a footbag designed for freestyle such as the sandmaster that will stand that sort of abuse for any length of time; they simply aren't designed for that sort of thing. |

my preference is actually a hemp foot bag. ive used hemp bags ever since i started. it is insanly durable, and provides good pop. one setback is that it does need some time to break in. what i do is take it out of its package, (if yours comes in one) and wash it with non abrasive soap and ice water. let it dry until it is damp then nead it in ur hands.
if ur not really looking for a hemp bag bc its a controversial material, try amaretta, even though it is much more expensive. |

Heh. With amaretta and the abuse that I've read from the TC, a bag like a Footfighter would die in a matter of seconds.
But in respect to the crochet bag, I like them a lot. If you can find a soft china-made one, especially in Rasta colors (yellow/black/red/green), those are really soft and break-in instantly. The only catch is that it's filled with soft organic root chippings encased in a plastic bag. With a careful hand, you can dissect the plastic wrap with a pair of tweezers and scissors and remove it in segments, and use a straw to remove all of the scraps out. From there, you can refill the bag with poly pellets and your choice of shot (I personally use copper BBs or large tungsten shot) to the weight that you are comfortable with.
I've had a crochet like this for close to a year, and have abused it a couple of times. It is practically the most durable bag I have, and it can certainly be used for freestyle. It doesn't have the same grip as that of a conventional suede-made footbag, but it is great to kick and freestyle with. It's absolutely perfect for performance-style footbag, or presenting footbag to a crowd or "hackysack" circle. |
