I've been playing on and off for about three years, and really, there's no right size, it's all about how you like to play. For instance, I like bigger guitars a lot better than smaller, you may be different. The size shouldn't matter as much as the quality of the guitar.

Yeah, just play what feels right to you. Try out guitars in a store and you will develop a peferance. whatever feels good is the right size

Hey i've been playing for around 4 years now and I'm now in several bands and playing solo at clubs. I would recomend starting off the way i did. Play bass. Bass is simple to understand play and easy going. The technique for bass is very simple when learning and you do not have to worry about chords. Start off with bass. Get a cheap bass off ebay for maybe 50 bucks and an amp for 50. Play for about a year and see if you'd like to advance in bass or move on to guitar. Lessons are a great way to go when starting...i wish i had but i taught myself. Keep it going man and tell me how it goes.

you can really play any style or size guitar you want. once you get good enough, consider joining a band. Its a time commitment, but it will speed your learning curve and you will make up alot of cool stuff.
