ok here is my plan!i wanna make a jam in my town, with my club(in wich i am the only member right now) and a whole bunch of other shredders!

first of all,it will take place in summer next year,so i have time too plan everything, the place i wanna do it closes for winterbreak anyways!

the actual cool thing is,i will make it in a public open air pool area.one realy big plus would be,if the weather is fine we would have average of 3000 possible spectators!!!!i work there,i told my boss my plan...and he was just blasted away,he was like, yeah give all of your footbag friends a free tickets, let them hang out there the whole day,do your bag thing and so,he even wanted to call his friend who works for a newspaper here to tell him to show up and make pics and write a cool article...so full back up from my boss, means location is clear, press is definatly coming,so it will make an impact here...

but,i now need some advise from experienced people, who did this stuff before, cause i would like to have a litttle workshop thing maybe, some handout bags and so on....but i dont know were to start, bags will be no prob, when i start now stiching 4 panels,i could do a few 100´s till then Very Happy but,how should i organize the workshop thing?what do u(if u ever made one)did in your workshops, what was made in workshops u took part in?and i even dont know if i realy make this workshop thing....but if i get some cool ideas together i do it.if not...this will be just a jam,a realy cool one i guess cause when youre done shredding u can go swimming,we have a huge slide wich is realy fun....so it will be cool.and i look forward to get it packed together with some kind of bandcontest(we have a lot of them, since we have a realy active young music scene)or a skating contest or something like this.but to make it a contest i would need some judges and enough players...so i guess it will come down to just a demonstration in the end...but i think it will get huge!

so what do u guys think?please gimme some advise if u have one!

shred hard!

There is a guide for running tournaments from Bob Rieferman - there is a sticky on modifiedin the Journies to tournies section .

For bags and money contact planetfootbag and other companies which have sometinh in common with footbag.

For the judges - hard to say maybe you can get some players who are injured or retired .

For accomodation try to get enough place for the players in a gym or anything

I guess it is really important to announce the date very early - maybe you can set up the date one week before worlds or something then you will have tons of good players at your jam .

Euros should be far before Worlds so one week before Worlds there should be no tournament up to now.

Maybe you should try to get the IFPA involved but I guess IFPA sanctioned events there are some guidelines the tourney must fit .

Definitely contact planetfootbag / dexdo / frankfurtfootbag and aachen to get some information about organizing a tournament .

the German Champs were well organized so you can learn something from them I guess.

For the workshop I did a few workshops . A workshop at a footbag tournament is no problem because there are enough players to help - I can do that .

Summing up I never made a tournament so maybe most of the stuff I told is not worth reading but this are jsut my two cents so do what you want with them .

Peace

p.s.: It is cool that you want to get something rolling.

hey jochen...thanks yeah i will put those 2 cents in my box and we see what comes out of it! Very Happy yeah i was thining about one week before worlds would rule, since they are in germany, and maybe some international players are in germany 1 week before,so that would rule!

accomodation is no problem,in the worst case of them all we put some tents beside tzhe pool area and we just sleep there! Razz but i have a big place to get them all!i hope i can have it!

for having it a tournament...as i said,i would do a demo, but since we would be the whole day in puplic, and everyone would see us anyway...yeah a tournament would rule, but i dont have any glue...i wanted to contact our beloved big footbag clubs anyway,as well as plaet footbag...

yeah...anyway,thanks a whole bunch of thanks man,i hope i see u there! Laughing

ok,today i made some big steps towards this event!i thought about a date, and i think i have one.it maybe will take place on the first weekend jn june, its a long weekend and it will be warm and stuff.i will need to find out when exactly worlds and euros are,but that is somehow makeable!i hope!

then,i have permission to get a bordered area for net play!its about 20 to 30 m²,i hope this will be enough!any net players?how much space will i need for 2 net fields?
then i have enough space for freestyle,i made a pic of the site we are shredding at.i post it lower.
then i have a raining emergency plan, allthoug i just hope i wont need it.since it is immpossible to get some kind of a gym here,i just managed to have a little jam inside of the then closed baiding hall.that will ruleempty pool shredding!!i guess some nice vids could be made there! Laughing full metal pool,we can have a nice reflection thing there!may look cool in vids!
then i have a plan for sleeping,if someone wants to.i could just take my genral key and let ourselfes into a loker room of a local soccer club,i have some kind of "permission" from my boss.sleeping in sleepbags should be nothing new for shredders! Very Happy we would have to be out there in the morning, but we could just go into freebath and chill around there untill everyone is recovered and let the event run down chlled, have a nice breakfast in the sun and so...i think its cool...

the freestyle place is awesome, its with those walkway stones, and its huge,u can just see...like half of it!i dont know if the size is correct,it may be a bit more or a bit less...anyway,we have the rest of the bath for us too, allthough i like to get this concentrated in the entrance area, since everyone will have too pass there!just imagine this all with more sun and a lot of people and some shredders!great!

so untill now this whole event will going to be great...i just hope some shredders will show up when the time has come!oh my date would be a holiday, pfingsten, dont know in english, but i know that everyone has the weekend of that for! Laughing so no excuses!

Marco your plan sounds very promising to me .

Just make sure that you can set up a date as soon as possible so everybody can plan his trip .

I will try to come.

Keep it up - your motivation is extraordinary.
