I play guitar and although I find it very hard to do both. My guitar playing has taken second place at times but since I'm playing in my churchs band I gotta keep and keep practicing!
Hopefully Matt Cross will reply to this cos hes a wicked musician and shredder! |

haha, awesome.
I play guitar. I love bringing my guitar to tournaments. It's made for some interesting times. Peter Irish and I have done improvisational cooperative jams with juggling balls and guitar, and I was invited to play routine music for Carol Wedemyer at the 20th East Coast Championships. I always break out the guitar at tournament parties. Guitar is perfect for when we're all relaxing after a day of shred and fun and just chilling in the hotel.
I'm psyched for bringing it to worlds I just bought a tiny little belthooked amplifier so I can use my electric guitar. |

Just a thought: ever tried to play the guitar and footbag simultaneously? Pixie ducking A-chord whirl... Don't try this at home, unless you have a very old and cheap guitar. |

I've played guitar for about 5 years now. I recently sold my guitar and am trying to sell my amp due to lack of playing time and people to play with. I'm going to pick it back up in a couple years. I can humbly (spelling?) say that I was pretty damn good at guitar and put on a few shows at talent/variety shows and coffee houses. It's fun stuff . |

| I play the guitar some but its hard to find time. I'm teaching myself scales right now, thats really hard. Does anyone listen to Joe Satriani or Yngwie Malmsteen? Those guys can play it! I feel stupid when I listen to that kinda guitar playing. anyway, what kinds of guitars do you guys play? I'm kinda between guitars right now... I am playing an oscar shmidt by washburn but i dream of better days. |

| hey it is great to hear that others play music as well, matt you are a great musician i like you samples on your site. I have been teaching myself the guitar and banjo simultaniously and I find it gettting easier now after a year. I am not very good i think because i am just learning songs off the internet, but i am working on improvising for myself. I play a beat up nylon string Hohner, but i am waiting for the day i can buy a nice steel string. Happy pickin and a kickin |

hmm... let's see what string instruments do I play...
* Accoustic Guitar (5½ years) - a bit classical, some flamenco (spanish). But usually just some pop - blaaah... I don't have electric guitar, but I'm cool with that.
* Bousouki (3 years) - haven't touched it for a long time, but it's a nice instument
* Mandolin (3 years) - I play some folkmusic (finnish) with this. Nice voice. I used to have triple string for it, but I removed one from each so now only double strings like mandolins usually have.
I would like to test banjo! I have never had a chance...
And also buch of other instruments, but not others with strings. |

I grew up with a strong metal/classic rock background, so of course I play the guitar!
However, seeing as the majority of my decisions in life are born of spite, I enjoy playing a unique mix of transcribed classical and metal; and not the Transyberian Orchestra hyped up Christmas crap.
I love transposing a nice quick fingertapping solo over the breaks in Moonlight Sonata, for example, with a friend who plays as well. After my solo, we'll harmonize when my friend breaks into a solo, and we just play off each other, moving from song to song; style to style.
In short, yes, I do |
