most sewers use facile (ultrasuede light).
it's not cheap, but it's worth it. you can get it at www.fieldsfabrics.com

i used crushed panne its cheaper and is easier to find

is the ultrasuede light the kind of material used in Mr. Sandman footbags or the Abshire footbags?

crushed panne is used for mr. sandman and facile is used for abshires.

I don't know exactly, but most of the fabric stores should carry it.
