Date: July 13-15 2012
Far-Travelers: Take 3 weeks off and travel from Aachen (EFC) via Frankfurt
(Bembel) to Warsaw (Worlds).

City: Aachen (Aken, Aix la Chapelle) is the most western City of germany and
located directly at the Netherlands/Belgium borders. It has about 250.000
inhabitants of which 35.000 are Students. Its History reaches back almost 5000
years and for a long time Aachen has been the place where german Kings were
Crowned. Nowadays Aachen is famous its technical Universities, the World
Equestrian Games, the Carnival and its Chrismas Market. Therefore Aachen is a
very touristic City and really crowded during all 4 seasons.

Tournament Site: We secured a terrific spot just outside Aachen (10mins bus
ride) with two large Sport-halls and 2 Soccer fields. 


Lodging:
1. PONTTOR
We have secured floor space for 40 Persons directly at the main spot for this
event.
-close to the event-site-bus
-close to the main party area of Aachen, tons of Bars and all the nightlife.
-close to some supermarkets and loads of food-places.
2. HOSTEL
We have reserved 24 Places in a neat Hostel with community-kitchen and
internet and such. Some places here will be reserved for Tournament Staff as
Net/Freestyle Directors, Judges and Helpers (Apply NOW for any of those
positions and secure a hostel-place!)
3. HOTEL
We are negotiating an event-deal for a proper Hotel (Ibis) for as low as 25.-
EUR per night and Person. This really is the cheapest you can find during this
season all over Aachen. 

Party:
Fridays Party will be in the Apollo Cinema with 2 Dancefloors and
Shredspace/Mininet.
Also Screening of Footbag videos (send in your Vids and see them on the big
screen)
Saturdays Party will be at Jakobshof where the 2007 Freestyle Finals Show of
the german Champs took place.
A Freestyle show on Stage with Sponsor-Prizes is planned too.

Routes to Aachen:
By car Aachen is about 45mins from Cologne/Düsseldorf, 2.5hrs from Frankfurt,
3,5hrs from Paris, 1.5hrs from Brussels.
Closest Airport is Maastricht-Aachen Airport (MAA) but thats really small.
Other good options are Cologne (CGN), Düsseldorf (DUS), Weeze (NRN), Dortmund
(DTM) with many cheap airlines to/from all destinations.
By Train: Deutsche Bahn has always some specials, group-tickets, weekend
deals. We will investigate on that at a given time.

Unique in the world of footbag, the Moonin’ & Noonin’ Beaver Open is an event 
that encourages everyone’s involvement.  In other words, come to participate 
rather than spectate.

The heart of the event is the Pro/Am Net tournament, where experienced 
players are paired with inexperienced with the goal of promoting and teaching 
the game.  This same attitude permeates the freestyle, footbag golf, circle 
kicking and multiple other activities (like cooking and cleaning) that take 
place.

The Beaver Open is also a camping event, so expect a semi-rustic environment 
with running water, showers, porta-potties and very limited electricity.  
You’ll need a tent, sleeping gear, cooking gear, and your footbags!

The Moonin’ & Noonin’ Beaver Open has taken place in Oregon every Labor Day 
weekend since 1981, is funded strictly by entry fees, and is the longest 
running footbag tournament in the history of the game (murmur).

Kickers of all styles and abilities are welcome.  Come to learn, come to 
teach!
